At Wilson Orthodontics we utilize several different types of brackets (braces) depending on the treatment goals and patient preference. These brackets may be the standard stainless steel that can be tied in with colored elastics or they may be ceramic that blend in with the tooth enamel. Some brackets are low friction, which allow for smoother space closure with less force thus decreasing patient discomfort. When patients have an allergy to nickel we utilize a system that does not incorporate nickel into the bracket.
Wilson orthodontics also utilizes a number of orthodontic and orthopedic devices, which have been clinically tested and proven to be effective. These can range from something as simple as elastic rubber bands to address protrusive front teeth to more complex device such as a Distal Jet Appliance or a Rapid Palate Expansion appliance (RPE).
Each patient can expect a customized treatment plan. This treatment plan will allow us to achieve their goals in the shortest time possible with the highest probability of success. This is done, by utilizing techniques, which have been tested and proven to be successful.
